2/3/09 - Jambase Reviews U-Melt's 1/24 Higher Ground Show

"As eclectic as the music that falls under the umbrella term "jam" is, the myriad of jam bands touring today makes it hard for artists on the scene to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pack. This is precisely the task U-Melt is currently faced with. I went down to Higher Ground to find out just how well this New York based foursome accomplishes that task. So, are they successful in this endeavor? After two sets worth of their remarkably tight jams, impressive compositions and surprisingly soulful and profound lyrics, the answer is a resounding yes."

1/4/09 - U-Melt Winter Tour '09 Announcement!

It is our pleasure to announce U-Melt's 2009 Winter Tour! The tour will kick off on Thursday, January 22nd at Mulcahy's in Wantagh, NY and conclude during the last weekend of February when U-Melt returns to Phildelphia's North Star and a stop at Hunter Mountain for the first annual Winter Jam. In between, U-Melt will be returning to some of our favorite spots in the Northeast, including Boston, S. Burlington, Baltimore, Ithaca, Albany/Troy, Syracuse, and Northampton, as well as debuts at Maxwell's in Hoboken, The Ocean Mist in Wakefield, RI and The Fairfield Theater Company in Fairield, CT.

U-Melt is also excited to announce a weeks run through the Southeast, starting with our debut at The Carry St. Cafe in Richmond, VA on Sunday, February 15th. Following that show, U-Melt will be making stops in Raleigh, Charleston, Charlotte, and Atlanta, where we are very excited to be performing a late night show at Smith's Olde Bar following Umphrey's McGee's performance at the Varierty Playhouse earlier in the evening. Please be on the lookout for a few additional southern dates to be announced in the coming days to round off the week. You can find a complete list of confirmed 2009 U-Melt tour dates and show details on U-Melt.com's Tour Date's page.

It is also our pleasure to give you a sneak preview into U-Melt's 2009 Spring Tour by announcing our first New York City show of 2009, which will be U-Melt's debut at BB King Blues Club on Friday, April 10th, when U-Melt will perform an Umphrey's McGee After Party, following Umphrey's show at Nokia Theater earlier that night. This show will mark the second installment of the pairing of U-Melt and our very good friend Wyllys! U-Melt will be re-uniting with Wyllys on a progressive series of events that touch on different aspects of electronic music. The two artists will perform interlocking sets with the middle set focused on particular styles of beats native to the areas they play. In Chicago this past December, we riffed on legendary Chicago house music and in New York, we will drop some drum and bass like they use to at Concrete Jungle. We hope you will all plan on joining us for our debut at this legendary New York City venue, for a very exciting night! Tickets are now available by clicking HERE.

12/26/08 - New Year's Eve Show Relocated to The Wonder Bar, Now 21+

Due to circumstances beyond our control, U-Melt has been forced to move our show on New Year's Eve from The Stone Pony to The Wonder Bar which is located just down the street from The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. We are thankful to The Wonder Bar for being available under such last minute circumstances, and we are happy to be able to move U-Melt's New Year's Eve performance just down the street to another legendary venue which is also within walking distance to the Berkely Hotel, where we have arranged for discounted hotel rooms for the evening. Unfortunately, we deeply regret having to announce that with the change in venue, it is impossible to keep the show accessible to fans under the age of 21. We sincerely apologize to our fans under the age of 21 who have planned on attending U-Melt's New Year's Even show, and we hope you understand that the change in venue was out of our hands. Despite reassurances from The Stone Pony for the past month that their emergency construction would definitely be concluded in time for New Year's Eve, we were just informed over the weekend that due to unforseeable construction delays, The Stone Pony will not be ready to be re-opened in time. We will be offering a refund to anyone under the age of 21 who has already purchased a ticket.

U-Melt is excited to be able to bring our New Year's Eve plans to The Wonder Bar, but due to the change in age restrictions for the evening, we regretably must announce that Lemon Juice will no longer be performing on New Year's Eve. We look forward to making it up to Lemon Juice in the near future when we are able to offer an 18+ show.

he Wonder Bar is located 3 blocks north from The Stone Pony on 5th and Ocean Ave. in Asbury Park, NJ. U-Melt's New Year's Eve show is only $20 in advance, and $25 at the door and advanced tickets are available via InTicketing. Doors open at 8:00pm and the music will go well past 3:00am.
