ADAM BENDY :: Electric Bass

Adam BendyAdam’s musical experiences and endeavors began while growing up; listening to whatever caught his ear on the radio. From popular music to rap to oldies to metal, Adam looks back knowing that there was something about music that sparked his soul. Early on he would walk through the halls of Mt. Sinai middle school singing aloud his favorite songs.

It was in that same school where Adam began his formal training. He started on the trumpet in 7th grade at the age of 14 and continued playing and studying through high school until his junior year when he switched to the baritone horn. Adam found this to be a welcome change because of the similarities he found between the baritone and the bass. (He had taken up the electric bass on his own some 2 1/2 years earlier) “The baritone horn had the range and capability to play both traditional “bass” parts and higher range melodies, a concept that so many players have brought to the electric bass.

While in high school Adam also began his vocal training, singing in the schools chorus and Madrigal choir. On bass he accompanied the schools jazz choir and played in the schools jazz band and pit orchestra.

Upon graduating from Mt. Sinai high school Adam enrolled at Five Towns College where he majored in music performance. This gave him the opportunity to continue to further explore music and related areas, as well as encounter new ones. By the time Adam had earned his degree he had already been performing regularly with a440 and continues to do so now with U-Melt.

“I’m just happy to be here. We just got to take it one show at a time and God willing things will work out.”
